JOWAI: Jowai Police on Tuesday arrested a 23-year old youth, identified as Sanki Sungoh of Dongmihsngi, Jowai, for kidnapping a 16-year-old girl and raping another 19-year-old girl.
Arrest was made on the basis of a complaint lodged by the family of the 16-year-old victim. Sungoh kidnapped the girl at around 6:30 am on Thursday last from their residence.
Interestingly, soon after his arrested, another 19-years old girl from Khimusniang, Jowai lodged a rape complaint against Sungoh.
Sungoh, meanwhile, was remanded to judicial custody.
