 Hotelier murdered over tea
Hyderabad:A hotel owner was stabbed to death by two unidentified assailants in a busy area in broad daylight following an altercation over tea here on Friday, police said.The incident occurred in the busy Begumpet area here, police said.Angry over the delay in serving tea, two men tried to assault a hotel employee but hotel owner Jehangir intervened to rescue him. The customers left after warning Jehangir of dire consequences.The men later returned and attacked the hotel owner with daggers as other customers and passersby watched in horror. The attackers fled the scene after a man tried to intervene. Jehangir died while being shifted to a hospital.The images of the attack was captured on a CCTV camera on the road. Police suspect involvement of two men with criminal records in the incident and are trying to identify them with the help of captured images. Old enmity between the hotel owner and the assailants is suspected to be the cause of the murder. (IANS)

Mother tonsures daughter
Thane:Fearing repeat attempt of rape of her daughter, a lady from Kalwa resorted to tonsure her daughter to make her look ugly.The unpleasant incident took place in Kalwa of Thane city just a couple of days back.It was some six months back the girl was attempted to rape by two youths who once again threatened to rape her.The victim lives with her parents in the Shanti Nagar slum colony of Kalwa and it was on July 30, 2014 the girl aged 13 was molested by the duo.The Kalwa police arrested one Babu Mohammad Liyakat Ali Mulla, 22 and a sixteen year old boy in connection with the crime. The duo pressurized the family members of the victim to withdraw the case against them.The family members were also beaten up by the duo. Babu who is out on bail from the charges of rape also threatened the family members and warned that if they do not not withdraw the complaint he would once again sexually assault the girl.The family members in extreme fear met the senior police officers after which offences have been registered against the duo.Meanwhile fearing the worst from the duo, the mother of the girl tonsured the girl to make her look ugly so that the girl does not not suffer once again at the hands of the accused persons.The accused persons whose names were given as Babu and Rohit pulled the girl to their house and raped her, the complaint stated.The incident itself happened between 15.00 hours and 8.30 next morning and till then the victim was held captive. Woman beats her  son to death
Rajkot: A woman was booked for allegedly beating her 12-year-old son to death with an iron rod for stealing valuable items from a nearby shop today, police said. Shakina Mohmmad Taj Ansari (40), a native of Kolkata, was arrested after she beat her son, Salim, to death around Kuvadava road area in outskirts of the city, Kuvadava area in-charge inspector S R Varu said. The incident took place today after Shakina came to know that Salim had stolen some valuables from a nearby shop, Varu said. A vendor saw Shakina indulging in some suspicious act while she was trying to dispose the body in a suitcase and informed the police, he said, adding, the cops nabbed Shakina red-handed.  During interrogation, Shakina confessed to her crime and said she was trying to dispose the body by bundling it in a suitcase. She was booked under IPC section 302 (murder) and further investigation is on to verify her statement, he added (PTI)
