SHILLONG: Meghalaya Secretariat defeated Sales XI by 5 wickets in the Inter Office cum Corporate Cricket League organised by the Shillong Cricket Association at the SCA Cricket Ground, Polo on Tuesday.
Electing to bat first Sales XI put up a modest 123/9 in 20 overs. Bappan Dutta scored 32 off 30 balls while Ruby Pathaw grabbed three wickets for 21 runs took 3/21 and was ably supported by Lamborlang (2/20).
In reply, Meghalaya Secretariat reached the target in 16.5 overs. Wanlam Lyngwa (36 off 39) and Ruby Pathaw (35 off 29 balls) steered the innings for Secretariat.
In the second match 6th MLP defeated NEHU by 57 runs. Electing to bat first, 6th MLP put up a massive 160/7 on board in 20 overs. Khamborlang Nongkynrih top scored with 44. PJ Lamare and BD Gupta grabbed two wickets each for NEHU. In reply, the NEHU chase was never on track and stopped at 103/4 in the allotted 20 overs.
