Always knew Taylor Swift would be my child’s godmother: Jaime

Actress Jaime King says singer and close friend Taylor Swift’s “thoughtfulness and kindness” is so effective that she could not think of anyone else as her upcoming baby’s godmother. “I always knew she was going to be the godmother if I had another baby,’ King told ELLE in an interview. The 35-year-old actress is currently pregnant with her second child with husband Kyle Newman. The couple, who has been married since 2007, has had a son James Knight Newman, born on October 6, 2013. King announced her second pregnancy back in February. The following month, she confirmed through Instagram posts that Swift would become her upcoming baby’s godmother. “Choosing a godmother is a very sacred and important thing in our family. They’re going to be guiding your child, and they’re responsible for them if something was to ever happen,” she said. “We try and choose people who we know would raise our child the way that we would raise our child and her thoughtfulness, her kindness, her authenticity… is so powerful to me. She’s so uninhibited in her giving… It’s just beyond.” Recalling the day she asked Swift to take on the significant role, King said she did not have a grand plan. “We were hanging out on the couch and I was like, ‘Hey, would ever want to be a godmother?’ And she was like, ‘Uh, yes!’ And she cried and, you know, all the fun things that best friends do,” she said. Director quits Fifty Shades of Grey

Sam Taylor-Johnson, who directed the first instalment of the American erotic romantic drama Fifty Shades of Grey, has confirmed her exit from the franchise.”Directing Fifty Shades of Grey has been an intense and incredible journey for which I am hugely grateful. I have Universal to thank for that. I forged close and lasting relationships with the cast, producers and crew and most especially, with Dakota and Jamie.”While I will not be returning to direct the sequels, I wish nothing but success to whosoever takes on the exciting challenges of films two and three,” she said in a statement, reports a website.Taylor-Johnson’s departure from the film’s upcoming follow-ups, is reportedly due to the fact that she had a tough time with writer E.L. James while filming the first adaptation. In line with the director’s exit, it was reported that screenwriter Kelly Marcel will also not be returning for the upcoming sequel titled Fifty Shades Darker. There isn’t an official statement from Universal Pictures regarding possible replacements for the two. However, with the duo’s departure, shooting Fifty Shades Darker will still kick off in the first quarter of 2016 as planned, with actors Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson to reprise their roles as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele respectively. Priyanka called me after my win

Kangana Ranaut and Priyanka Chopra were pitted against each other at the 62nd National Film Awards but the “Queen” star, who was declared the best actress, today said they have no professional rivalry. Kangana, 28, won her second national award for the Vikas Bahl-directed film. “It’s been long-long journey with Priyanka and it began during ‘Fashion’ when I was a starry-eyed fan of hers. She was a superstar during that time and today I am competing with her. It feels great. “We have always maintained our friendship since 2008. She had no reason to choose me as her friend because I was a nobody at that time. She called me from California and congratulated me after the awards were announced. We spoke for an hour,” Kangana told PTI. Post Kangana’s win, Priyanka had congratulated her “Fashion” co-star and had tweeted, “I hate losing. But if I had to take a back seat to anyone this year it would be you #KanganaRanaut ! Congratulations!yay Queen!#SmallTownGirls.” Kangana said she has highest regard for the former Miss World and her work. “I have been misquoted many times when it comes to Priyanka. But it hasn’t changed our equation. Art is subjective and if people say that her performance in ‘Mary Kom’ was better than I have no issues with that. It’s just the spirit which matters,” she said.
