Minor dead in road accident
On March 31 around 9.30 pm, one Maruti car (ML-05K-0152) driven by Jeffry Star Kharumnuid knocked down Baiohmon Kharkongor (16) at Umphyrnai. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to NEIGRIHMS, where she succumbed to her injuries on April 1.
One dead in mishap
On March 31 around 2 pm, Katsmander Rani (65) of Mawlai, Mawdatbaki, Nongpathaw, fell down from the first floor of an under-construction building at Mawiong, MECOFED, Shillong. He was removed to Nazareth Hospital where the MO declared him brought dead.
Body found hanging
On March 31 around midnight, decomposed body of one Simborlang Ryntathiang (39) was found hanging in his residence at Mawpat, Mawmurok, Shillong.
Wife assaulted
A woman lodged a complaint that on March 30 around 8 pm, her husband Balumlang Shabong, under the influence of alcohol, attempted to assault her in her residence at Upper New Colony, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, in violation of a restraining order from a court.
NGT ban violations
On March 29 around 10.15 pm, Police detected one coal-laden truck (AS-01BC-3866) at Ryndangbriew, Mawiong while transporting coal without valid documents in violation of NGT order.
On March 26 around 6 pm, members of Nongtrai Association, Aradonga detected one coal-laden truck (AS-18A-3271) at Nongtrai village (WKH) while transporting coal in violation of NGT order and handed over the truck to Police at Aradonga OP. The driver fled.
ATM fraud
Augustine N Sangma lodged a complaint that on March 26 around 11.30 am, he received a phone call on his cell phone from one Rahul Kumar claiming to be an SBI official who asked for his ATM details to which the complainant gave the details. On March 29, he found that Rs.24,980 had been debited from his account.
Accident
On March 31 around 10.30 pm, one Maruti Alto car (ML-05G-9828) driven by Rayan Wankhar collided with an Oil Tanker (ML-05F-0938) driven by Feroz Khan at Mylliem (EKH). As a result, the driver of Alto car and two other occupants sustained injuries and were removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
On March 30 around 7.45 pm, one Motorcycle (ML-05G-5880) ridden by Lucas Sunn (27) knocked down Madan Lal Sharma (60) near NEEPCO, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
Vehicle theft
On April 1 early morning, unknown miscreants stole one Bolero Invader (ML-01-3086) from a parking place near Pine Mount School, Shillong.
