SCA, NEHU register wins

Shillong: Shillong Cricket Association (SCA) defeated NHRD New Delhi by 6 wickets in the 3rd Vice – Chancellor Cricket Tournament 2015 organized by the Department of Sports North Eastern Hills University at SCA Cricket Ground, Polo, on Tuesday.
New Delhi elected to bat first and scored 124 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Sanjay Kumar topscored with 39 runs off 25 balls, while Asa Warjri took 2 wickets for 31 runs for SCA.
In reply, SCA reached the target in 19 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Purojit Mondal topscored with 67 runs off 61 balls, while  Avadesh Kumar took 2 wickets for 21 runs for New Delhi.
In the second match, NEHU defeated St. Edmund’s Teachers by D/L Method. Electing to bat first St. Edmund’s Teachers scored 100 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Gideon Kharkongor scored 26 runs off 30 balls, while Biswajeet Das Gupta and Peter J Lamare bagged 2 wicket each for NEHU.
In reply, NEHU scored 89 for 1 wicket before rain interrupted the match. Kamaljit topscored 46 runs off 37 balls, while Navin Chettri took 1 wicket for 27 runs, for St. Edmund’s.
