1571 houses damaged in Apr 4 cyclonic storm in NGH

TURA: North Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner W. Khyllep has informed that a total of 1571 houses were severely damaged in the cyclonic storm that ravaged the district on April 4.
The damage to agricultural and horticultural crops, livestock, fishery ponds etc., during the storm which affected altogether 117 villages is presently under assessment according to the deputy commissioner. It was further informed that relief in the form of rice, dal etc., have been distributed to 71 households and would continue in the near future.
