Grenade found in Mawryngkneng, defused safely

SHILLONG: A grenade was recovered from Mawryngkneng village in East Khasi Hills District on Saturday morning which was later defused by police.
According to police, residents of Mawryngkneng village recovered a rusted grenade at the village which created panic in the area.
Later, personnel from the Bomb Disposal Squad safely defused the grenade.
Police are investigating how the rusted grenade surfaced in Mawryngkneng.
