Appeal to NSCN(K) to review truce decision

Kohima: The Konyak Union (KU), the apex official body of Konyak Naga tribe, has appealed NSCN (K) to review quashing of ceasefire in the larger interest of the Naga people.
In a statement, KU president S Manlip Konyak and General Secretary Y Hosea Konyak said KU held its executive council meeting at Mon on April 8 in which they deliberated on the hard earned ceasefire extension between the Centre and NSCN (K). Even if NSCN (K) has abrogated ceasefire, KU said the meeting resolved to appeal them to review and extend the ceasefire in the larger interest of the Nagas.
The Union also appealed to the Centre and NSCN (K) to immediately resolve the differences and extend the ceasefire agreement as desired by the people.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Konyak elected members, intellectuals, retired officers, KU units, Gaon Burhas federation, Village Development Board association Mon district, Village council union Mon district, Mon Town ward, Konyak Students Union, KNSK and KU advisory board. (UNI)
