TURA: The All India Garo Union (AIGU) has expressed displeasure over the MPSC job advertisement made on March 2 where the eligibility criteria for selection of candidates under the Health & Family Welfare Department stated that only bonded candidates who have executed bond to serve in rural areas for a minimum period of five years would be given preference.
According to the union, the advertisement was in complete contrast to the state government’s earlier stand on the matter.
Pointing out that Garo, Khasi and Jaintia candidates who have passed MBBS from various recognized universities of India without going through government quota including those who studied abroad with MCI passed certificates would be deprived of their rights, the union urged the government to intervene in the matter so as to ensure all students are selected only on basis of merit and their performance.
