Singer Lil Wayne has been sued by tour bus driver over an alleged emotional distress claim. Mark Jones, Wayne’s former tour bus driver, filed a lawsuit against the rapper for allegedly threatening to kill him and causing emotional distress during Wayne’s 2014 summer tour, reported a website.
Wayne, 32, also faces allegation of false imprisonment. Jones was hired to drive Wayne and his crew around for his 2014 summer concert tour.
According to Jones, the problem started in their first stop, Buffalo, at 11.30 at night when he pulled over for gas.
Wayne apparently became irritated and started cursing, making Jones afraid and continue driving without refuelling. Jones claimed that Wayne went on cursing, threatening to unload his pistol and saying that he would finish the job by killing Jones.
The driver got angry and refused to continue driving. Wayne freaked out and approached him with a gun, pointed it to Jones and demanded, “I want to get to the hotel now.”
Jones followed the order and kept silent in 30 minutes of driving. It is not the first time Wayne has been hit with legal issues.
In July 2007, Wayne was sent to jail after a concert in New York.
He was charged with one count of criminal weapons possession and one charge of criminal possession of a loaded weapon.
He faced another legal issue in 2010.
An Arizona judge sentenced Wayne to three years’ probation stemming from his 2008 arrest in the state over drugs and firearm possession charges. (PTI)
