Woman drugged, gang-raped in Punjab

Pathankot: A 22-year-old woman was allegedly drugged and gang-raped by three men at Sarna village near here, police said on Saturday. The woman in her complaint said that on the night of April 14 when she was going back to her village, one of the accused Pardeep Kumar, gave her a lift on his motorbike, SSP Rakesh Kaushal said.
She alleged that the accused had offered her ice-cream which was mixed with some intoxicant following which he took her to a shop in Sarna village where another accused Vicky and an unidentified man were present, police said.
She became unconscious after which the three men allegedly raped her and fled from the spot, the SSP said. Vicky has been arrested while the other two accused are absconding, they said. The victim was subjected to medical examination at local civil hospital, where doctors confirmed that she has been sexually assaulted. (PTI)
