World Red Cross Day

Indian Red Cross Society, Meghalaya, will celebrate the World Red Cross Day on May 8 at 10 am at Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides campus. Health Minister A.L. Hek will be the chief guest.

Disruption of water supply

The Executive Engineer, PHE, Greater Shillong Water Supply Division 1, has informed that water supply to Lachumiere, Keating Road, VIP areas, Police Bazar, Oakland, Jail Road, Pasteur Hills, Mawroh and Mawlai areas has been affected since May 6 following a breakdown in the feeder main pipeline at Jail Road area towards Polo Bazar. Efforts are being made to complete the work for the restoration of normal water supply.

Skill fest

The Directorate of Employment & Craftsmen Training will organize a Skill Fest cum Job Fair 2015 on May 22 at New Nongstoin Playground to generate awareness about job-oriented skill development programme and to allow candidates to understand a variety of possibilities and make selection of training programmes and careers as per their choice.

Traffic notice

The West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner has informed that entry of all type of vehicles from Athiabari will now be permitted from 5 am to 6:30 am and the exit from Mawpun-Riangdo to Athiabari will commence from 10 am to 1:30 pm. The weighbridge at Mawpun will operate from 9:30 am and crossing of the vehicles from the taxation /DMR check gate shall be allowed from 10 am.

Lok Adalat

The District Legal Services Authority, West Jaintia Hills will hold Lok Adalat for Motor Accident Tribunal and Insurance Claims in Room No. 106, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Jowai, on May 9 from 10 am.
