Jamie Foxx in talks to join ‘Baby Driver’ team
Jamie Foxx is in talks to join “The Fault in Our Stars”     star Ansel Elgort in filmmaker Edgar Wright’s “Baby
Driver”. According to sources, the details surrounding the actor-singer’s role in the film have been kept under wraps, reports a website. The film, which also features Lily James, is being helmed and penned by Wright and produced by Working Title’s co-chairmen Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan along with Nira Park through her Big Talk Productions.  Baby Driver follows a story of a young, talented getaway driver who relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best. After being coerced into working for a crime boss, he must face the music when a heist goes awry. The production is expected to start later this year. Meanwhile, Foxx is currently filming the action thriller “Sleepless Night” which revolves around a policeman searching for his kidnapped son. (IANS)
Indian Idol Junior winner Ananya signs deal with Universal
Odisha girl Ananya Nanda, the winner of Indian     Idol Junior 2, is set to sign a two-year record     deal with label Universe Music India. Her single will be unveiled every consecutive year. The other four finalists on the singing competition series– Vaishnav Girish, Nahid Afrin, Nithyashree Venkataramanan and Moti Khan– will also be taken on-board by the label as its next indi-pop act. They will have the opportunity to release one single each. Universe will also sign on these singers for a holistic 360 degree contract for two years wherein all aspects including live show, endorsements, music albums will be solely managed by the label. “The talent has been outstanding and it’s my firm belief that these Indian Idol Juniors today are tomorrow’s stars,” said R H Chhatrapati, Vice President Universal Music & EMI, South Asia. ‘Spice Girls in talks to reunite’
Singer Geri Halliwell has confirmed her girl group     Spice Girls is “in talks” to reunite for the 20th anni    versary of their debut single “Wannabe” in 2016. The 43-year-old singer said it would be “nice” to celebrate “in some way,” reported Daily Mirror. “I think it’s really flattering that people are so supportive of the Spice Girls individually and collectively. It’s one of those things that have been discussed. “I think it’s nice to celebrate it in some way. I can say that there’s been talks. That’s fair and honest,” she said. The group consisted of Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, and Victoria Beckham. (PTI)
Nicole Kidman pays tribute to father in ‘Photograph 51’
Nicole Kidman says her new West End stage role     as a scientist is a way of “acknowledging” the     work of her biochemist father, who died last year. The Oscar-winning star, 48, plays pioneering British scientist Rosalind Franklin in the play “Photograph 51”, reported BBC online. Franklin was the only woman involved in the discovery of DNA’s double helix in 1953, but only received recognition years after her death. The play, by Anna Ziegler, opens at the Noel Coward Theatre next week. “This is my way of acknowledging him but also acknowledging the people in science who quietly do things and aren’t acknowledged a lot of the time. He knew I was going to do this. I like to think he’ll still be somewhere offering support,” she said. Kidman recalled how as a child she spent time with her sister playing in laboratories with “test tubes and microscopes” while her father worked. (PTI)
