GHADC polls: 3 more file papers

TURA/SHILLONG:  Three Independent candidates have filed their nomination papers for the October 12 GHADC elections on Tuesday at Tura.
Ajit .A. Marak filed his nomination for Asanang constituency, Devarston .T. Sangma  for Jengjal seat and Ram Sangma  for Rochonpara.
No candidates came forth to file nomination papers in four other district headquarters on the second day of filing nomination.
Meanwhile, exodus of politicians and their supporters from one party after another continues unabated over ticket distribution.
Congress member Stevie M Sangma who was one of the potential Congress candidates from Asanang has resigned from the party.
The Congress has nominated former MLA Ismail Marak as its candidate to contest from Asanang.
He is expected to contest the polls as an Independent.
UDP candidates: The United Democratic Party (UDP) has announced  the names of three more candidates for the upcoming GHADC elections. They are Pangseng R Marak for Gasuapara,   Kredithson. Ch. Marak for  Asanang  and  Balnash R Marak  for Rongrong.
