Karachi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president TC Mathew has said that the final decision about the India-Pakistan series is expected to be made in October.
Mathew revealed that BCCI is waiting to get permission from the Indian government on the series, the Express Tribune reported.
He said that he along with the people from both the nations, want to watch the stalled series, adding that the UAE will be an ideal venue to hold it.
Earlier, PCB chief Shaharyar Khan had written a letter to the Indian cricket board secretary Anurag Thakur, seeking an update on the proposed bilateral series between the two sub-continental rivals scheduled to be held in December.
In the wake of the Gurdaspur attack in July, Thakur had ruled out the immediate resumption of stalled series against Pakistan, saying that one cannot expect a cricket series amidst rising terrorist activities.
According to the MoU signed between PCB and BCCI, both countries are scheduled to play six series in the 2015-2023 Future Tours Programme, but all were subject to clearance from New Delhi.
India have not played a full bilateral Test series with Pakistan after the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. (ANI)
