I enjoy giving out advice to younger actors: Robert De Niro
Hollywood legend Robert De Niro says there’s no     downside in younger actors asking veterans for     advice. Speaking about what each generation can learn from the other, De Niro, 72, said, “There’s no downside in asking somebody who’s been around a lot longer than you, especially if they’ve done things that you’ve done, or in that area.” “Someone in the theatre or movies asking a person what to look out for, I’ve done that with people when I was younger especially. It’s a good thing.” With a film career spanning over 50 years, the Oscar-winning actor has made more than 90 movies and has plenty of wisdom to impart on the younger generation, it was reported. De Niro also added that he enjoys giving advice to those who ask and may even offer some pearls of wisdom if he feels an actor needs some help. “I enjoy giving advice to people if they ask. Or maybe I’ll volunteer it if I really feel they’re going to hit a wall of some sort,” he said. (PTI)
Kidman loves Keith Urban’s voice
Actress Nicole Kidman says she loves hearing singer husband Keith Urban’s voice. The 48-year-old  actress, who is currently starring in the West End production “Photograph 51” in London, never sends him text messages or emails when they’re apart because she prefers talking to him on the phone, reported Female First. “My husband and I never text each other. We never do. Once in a blue moon, we’ll text. But mainly we say, ‘I want to hear your voice.’ That’s very unusual but we’ve been together for 10 years. We started like that and we haven’t changed it. We don’t email each other either. So it’s about trying to keep it as intimate and personal as possible.” (PTI)
Tried hard to be versatile: Hathaway
Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway says she     has consciously tried to diversify her range as     an actor. “My whole (modus operandi) in my twenties was being in as many different types of films as you can. Working with as many different types of directors as you can. I think, in part, that’s what I wanted to do as an actor.” The actress said it was not easy to be taken seriously after first found fame in comedy movie “The Princess Diaries” in 2001 but she has worked hard to avoid being typecast, was reported. “And also, for the first few years of my career, ‘The Princess Diaries’ was so cool in so many ways. It was a great first job. It was a hit. “But at the same time, it was a hard thing to be like, ‘You know, Robert Rodriguez, I swear: I can do one of your movies.’ It was hard to get into rooms to be taken seriously for roles that weren’t princesses. And so, I think partially, that’s why I’ve tried to have as big of a range as I’ve had.” Reflecting on her career, the “Les Miserables” star said, “This whole thing, everything that’s happened to me has been such a lovely surprise. I’ve worked very hard for it, but I’m so surprised that it’s going as well as it is.” (PTI)
Jackman’s son finds him embarrassing
Actor Hugh Jackman has played the titular super   hero in “The Wolverine” but according to the     actor, his teenage son does not think he is anything like the iconic character. The 46-year-old “X-Men” star said his son, Oscar, 15, is not much impressed by his heroic deeds on screen, it was reported. “My son had a friend over, a new friend. So he came over and I was listening to them in the room and the friend was obviously a fan, and was asking lots of questions. “My son was just quiet and he was just basically, ‘Mm. Yeah. No. Maybe’ and then finally he said, ‘Look, can you just not ask me anymore questions? I’ve just got to let you know my dad is nothing like Wolverine. He’s really not cool. He’s not tough in any way, okay? So just forget that.'” Jackman said he agrees with his son that he is extremely clumsy. “It’s amazing to me that I can ever look vaguely cool, because I am clumsy; I trip. (In) most gag-reels… I’ve seen it in every film I’ve done. There’s me tripping over, falling over, running into doors, knocking people over, punching myself with claws…” (PTI)
