KHADC Branch office inaugurated

Shillong: The Executive Committee of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) inaugurated the Branch Office of KHADC at Mawkyrwat, South West Khasi Hills District on September 30 in presence of Rowell Lyngdoh, Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya and other dignitaries. P N Syiem, Chief Executive Member, KHADC was the Chief Guest for the occasion.
Syiem said that this office will benefit the people residing within the jurisdiction of South West Khasi Hills. “It is high time that a co-ordination Committee be constituted between the Government and District Council so as to avoid conflicts and confusion”, he added. He also stressed on the needs and importance of empowerment of traditional chiefs as this will help revive and preserve culture and tradition.
