SHILLONG: The State Government t will wait for the implementation of Central education policy before framing the state education policy.
Informing this here on Wednesday, a State government official said that the draft state education policy was uploaded in the website for the last many years , but there were no suggestions or feedback from people.
There were demands from several quarters for the implementation of education policy in Meghalaya.
Teachers’ body threatens stir: The Federation of All Meghalaya Adhoc Secondary Teachers’ Association has decided to launch a mass agitation in the coming days “if the State Government fails to fulfill its long pending demands”.
The Federation in its meeting held recently discussed various issues such as upgradation of adhoc schools to deficit pattern and hike of salary of the Hindi teachers.
The meeting also elected B Kharumnuid as its new president, M Pyrthih as general secretary and S Thabah as treasurer.
