Woman robbed, raped

JOWAI: In yet another case of crime against women in the State, three persons barged into the shop of woman at Iawmusiang near here on the night of September 29 and robbed her of Rs 5000 besides raping her.
West Jaintia Hills Police arrested the accused on Thursday night and booked them under Section 394 and 376 of Indian Penal Code.
The three have been identified as Romiki Ryngkhlem, Lik Bang and Riwot Lipon, all residents of Pynthorlangtein.
According to the woman, while she was about to close her shop at around 10 pm, the miscreants forcibly entered her shop and robbed her Rs. 5000. She also alleged that the miscreants assaulted her and one of them raped her.
The arrested persons have been remanded to judicial custody.
