New Delhi:Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday assured the nation that the government would take strict action against anyone found disturbing communal harmony.
Responding to a question about tension in Dadri, UP, where a man was killed by a mob over rumours about the consumption of beef, he said, ”The Central government as well as the state government will take strong possible action against those found disturbing law and order and communal harmony.”
He was speaking at the inauguration of a two-day national conference on human trafficking.
The Home Ministry had issued an advisory to all the states that there should be zero tolerance against anyone who tried to weaken the secular fabric of the nation and exploit the religious sentiments of the people.
On October 1, the Home Ministry sought a report from the UP government about the Dadri incident and advised it to ensure that such incidents do not recur. (UNI)
