Durga Puja telecast
The Durga Puja celebrations in Shillong will be telecast in two parts on DD Bangla channel on all DTH platforms on October 22 and 23 at 2:30 pm.
Nongkrem Dance
The annual thanksgiving festival of Hima Khyrim Nongkrem Dance will be held on November 3 and 4 at Smit. The Syiem of Hima Khyrim informed that the dance symbolizes the rich cultural heritage of the State.
Social meet
The Shillong Manipuri Students’ Union will organise the 39th freshers’ cum social meet & North East Cultural Exchange 2015 under the theme ‘Let’s unite & live together with peace, love and harmony’.
Annual meet
The annual general meeting of the Seng Kur Wahlang will be held on October 22 at 11 am at the District Library Auditorium, Jowai.
Golden jubilee
Synod College will be holding the closing function of the Golden Jubilee Celebration on November 20 at 11 am at Students’ Field. College alumni desiring to attend the function have to register themselves and obtain entry passes from the college before November 5.
Workshop held
A workshop to sensitize government and government aided colleges of Meghalaya on the implementation of RUSA scheme in the State was organized by the Office of the DHTE, Meghalaya, Shillong at DERT, Laitumkhrah, on the October 21. Participants from 23 institutions attended the workshop which was chaired by Director, Higher &Technical Education, C.P. Gotmare.
Awareness programme
The one-day awareness programme on the function of IBDLP and role of EFC organised by Enterprise Facilitation Centre, Shella Bholaganj C&RD Block, Sohra, was held on October 20 at Mustoh village about 32 km from Sohra. The programme was inaugurated by Evangel Shanpru, OSD – MBDA.
