Speaking to pressmen here on Monday, the nephew of the late HSPDP supremo said that he decided to seek ticket after several HSPDP leaders proposed that kin of Late Lyngdoh should replace him.
“I decided to join the fray with support from my (H S Lyngdoh’s) family and the party leaders,” he claimed.
“I am ready to face any opponent if I receive green signal from the HSPDP supporters,” he added.
It may be mentioned that sitting MDC of Nongstoin, L G Nongsiej, Dr. Fenela Lyngdoh Nonglait and Dios Jyndiang, personal assistant of (L) Hoping Stone Lyngdoh are already in the fray for the party ticket.
NBCC) forwards aspirants’ names
The Nongstoin Block Congress Committee (NBCC) on Monday decided to forward the names of all three aspirants– Nestingdar Nongdkhar, Adviser Pariong and Gabriel Wahlang-to the DCC and MPCC.
The decision was taken during a special meeting at Congress Bhavan on Monday. The meeting was attended by 27 of the 39 primary units of the party.
During the meeting, several primary units recommended Adviser Pariong’s name for the party ticket for the by-poll. NBCC president, Albinus Kharbani told pressmen here on Monday that the party is united and will support the candidate “recommended by the high level”. Interestingly, after the meeting, presidents of some primary units while addressing the media alleged that the NBCC manipulated the procedure of the party and forced them to back Adviser Pariong’s candidature.
