SHILLONG: The State-level children’s science congress cum award for meritorious students was held on October 29 at Shillong Science Centre, NEHU campus.
The Principal of Lady Keane college, C. Massar gave away awards to eight students who scored 100% marks in Science on this year SSLC Examination.
8 projects (3-Junior and 5-Senior) out of 28 projects were selected to take part at the National-level Congress to be held at Chandigarh University, Punjab.
All the districts were represented in the State congress except South West Garo Hills.
Some of the projects selected to represent the state includes, “Impacts of charcoal making in Phottdei village, South West Khasi Hills,” led by Dianghunshisha Wanniang of Littlestar Secondary School, “Harvesting of rainwater and its reuses” by Alvareen Jala of Pinebrook Secondary School among others.
