62nd All India Cooperative Week Celebration

SHILLONG: The inaugural function of 62nd All India Cooperative Week Celebration, 2015 was held on Saturday by Meghalaya Minister for Cooperation, H. D. R Lyngdoh in the presence of Parliamentary Secretary, Cooperation, S Mukhim, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Cooperation Department, H Marwein and Registrar of Cooperative Societies, B. D. R Tiwari besides others.
The theme of the occasion was “Make in India through Cooperatives” with a focus on “Skill Development and Employment”.
In his speech, Lyngdoh said that the function was held to highlight the achievements of Cooperative Sector in various sectors and to work out strategies of growth based on dynamics of cooperative development and added that the current year’s theme had a strong relevance for India’s socio-economic development through the cooperative model. He handed over the loan sanctioning letter to 12 beneficiaries and the State Level Cooperative Excellence Award, 2015-16 to ICAR Employees Consumers ‘Cooperative Society Ltd.
