Clean and Green Campaign organized

MAWKYRWAT: With a view to create awareness amongst the people on the importance of cleanliness and sanitation and its impact on human lives and environment, a ‘Clean and Green Campaign March’ was held on November 14 at Mawkyrwat which started from Block Development Office, Mawkyrwat and culminated at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, South West Khasi Hills, Mawkyrwat.
Various school students carrying placards and slogans on the menace of pollution participated in the campaign.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills District, Mawkyrwat, H.S Lyngdoh spoke on the importance of cleanliness thereby urging everyone to maintain cleanliness for good health and prosperity.
He called also upon the people to work in tandem with the government for a safe and healthy environment.
