SHILLONG: In a strange suggestion, the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills has informed the CSWO to arrange private security personnel and Traffic Wardens from a registered Private Security Agency at their own cost for the proposed rally convened by the CSWO on environmental issues.
Following a request by the organization to hold a rally to commemorate the “Global March against Climate Change” on November 30, the DC permitted the holding of the rally, however asking the organizers to arrange its own security personnel stating the above mentioned order.
The rally was proposed to commence from Fire Brigade ground and to culminate at Additional Secretariat Parking lot.
According to the NGO, the purpose of the rally is to enlighten people on climate change and the threats resulting from the occurrence of this global issue risking human lives and nature in the long run.
