Accidents in Meghalaya

A driver of a Maruti car (ML05J – 3297) along with a co-passenger sustained injuries when the vehicle was involved in a head on collision with a truck (ASZ5BC – 0103) near Umsning market, Ri Bhoi, on November 23 at around 1 am. Shan Lyngdoh (30, M) and Recovery Malieh (24, M) were admitted to Shillong Civil Hospital.
A truck proceeding towards Guwahati from Nongpoh collided into a stationary truck at Umling in Ri Bhoi on November 22 at 7:30 pm. Copingson Syat (22, M) was admitted at Nongpoh Civil Hospital.
A TATA Indica (ML05M – 7888) proceeding towards Shillong hit a road side barricade near MeCoFED office at Mawiong on November 22 at around 5 pm. The injured driver John Mawa (16, M) was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital.
A TATA Sumo proceeding towards Mairang from Maroid overturned at Madan Maroid under Mairang Block in West Khasi Hills on November 22 at 4:30 pm. Lionath Lyngdoh Kynshi (21, M) was shifted to Tirot Singh Memorial Hospital in Mairang.
A scooter heading towards Mawprem from Lumparing drove into a ditch and overturned at Garikhana in Shillong on November 22 midnight. Alpius Dkhar (28, M) and Rich Lyngdoh (20, M) were administered first aid at the scene of the accident.
In all the above cases the 108 Emergency Service Ambulances based in various locations of the State helped to shift the injured persons to the nearest medical centre.
