IIM Shillong wins HSBC IB League

Shillong: A team from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong emerged as the national winners of the premier season of HSBC Investment Banking (IB) League, a national B-school corporate competition organised by the investment banking arm of HSBC.
The competition was directed by the Strategic Transaction group of HSBC branches located at Bangalore and Yangzhou, China, and aims to provide the B-School participants, a real world simulation of Investment Banking.
Soumya Goha and Ramesh Jaiswal represented IIM Shillong alongside national finalists IMT-Ghaziabad, MDI Gurgaon, IIFT-Delhi, IIM Kozhikode, SIBM and SCMHRD.
The competition involved five levels of submission, each requiring extensive research, strategic ideation, persuasive presentation, valuation and financial modelling.
Nine esteemed panellists were invited to judge the final round which consisted of investment bankers from China, India and UK along with senior leaders of HSBC from different segments.
