One nabbed with arms

Guwahati: A 30-year-old man carrying arms and ammunition has been arrested along Assam-Meghalaya border in Assam’s Kamrup (Metro) district on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of the police and CRPF nabbed the man from Noonmati village in the district this morning, a police spokesman said.
The person has been identified as Ariston Ronghang and four SBML guns, three rounds of ammunitions and some gun making tools have been recovered from his possession.
An FIR has been filed against the person and it was yet to be ascertained whether he belonged to any particular outfit, the spokesman added. (PTI)
GNLA couriers held
While four GNLA informers who regularly pass information to GNLA about the movement of the police  were arrested from Chokpot in South Garo Hills on Tuesday, the equal number of  cadres  who were entrusted with the task of sending demand notes  were nabbed from Tura on the same day.
