SHILLONG: A delegation of the Shilliang-Um People’s Development Forum (SPDF) met South West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner, R. Lyngdoh, on Friday to complain of the absenteeism culture among officials of the district.
The deputy commissioner was surprised to learn that the SPDF had visited various offices at Mawkyrwat including the Sports, Forests, Soil and Water Conservation, Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry and Fisheries departments and found that the offices were vacant.
The SPDF was, however, able to meet the District Horticulture Officer on November 24 to apprise him of the difficulties faced by people of Mawkyrwat.
