Man arrested with arms in Agartala

Agartala: Agartala city police has arrested a 30-year-old man with a pistol from a rented house at Collegetilla in the city.
Acting on a tip-off, police on Saturday night raided the house and arrested the person identified as Naresh Chakma, a resident of Nutan Bazar in South Tripura.
He has been charged with illegal possession of firearm.
Police has also interrogated the house owner Harlal Deb.
DSP Central Rajendra Dutta said during the search, the cops recovered a .9 mm pistol made in Italy and two empty magazines were recovered from the room where the person resides as tenant.
Naresh is booked under the Arms Act.
According to report, Naresh has shifted to Deb’s house as tenant about a month ago. Prior to this, a woman, identified as Jyoti Chakma, used to stay in the same room.  (UNI)
