SHILLONG : Vivekanand Singh, SDPO Dadenggre and his police team have organized police public contact program to thank the local people for their active participation in crime prevention initiative in Dadenggre area.
Police have appreciated the proactive role played by all the people in identifying the ‘ bad guys’ who have addicted to crimes such as kidnappings and abductions as a means of livelihood and handing them over to police.
This active involvement of people in preventive policing would enhance the security in the area, police said.
According to police, police will be conducting similar programmes in all the villages of Garo Hills to elicit people’s participation and cooperation in crime prevention and detection
Police admitted that people’s active participation in this exercise in the recent weeks coupled with prompt police actions have resulted in many surrender of militants and dacoits.
