Police seize 15 coal laden trucks in Ri Bhoi

SHILLONG: Police on Tuesday morning detected 15 trucks at Byrnihat, Ri Bhoi, which were illegally transporting coal in violation of NGT order.
Police seized the 15 trucks – AS-18C-4285, AS-11BC-6567, AS-01BD-0935, AS-01BC-9733, AS-01BC-8573, ML-05A-5414, ML-05L-1490, ML-05L-2390, AS-01EC-2456, ML-10A-2358, ML-04B-1564, ML-04B-4982, ML-05H-2767, AS-01AC-7945 and AS-01AC-0722. Matter is under inquiry.
In another incident on November 28, unknown miscreants burnt down a police check point at Upper New Nongstoin in West Khasi Hills, which had been erected for the purpose of enforcing NGT orders.
