SHILLONG: Royal Wahingdoh FC and Shillong Lajong played a goalless draw in a Zonal Round U-18 I-League match at the JN Stadium here on Wednesday morning.
Following the tie, RWFC maintained its top spot sitting pretty at 14 points from six games while Lajong remained at third place with 11 points.
Earlier, the I-League rivals played out an evenly matched tie with both sides having their share of chances to score. RWFC’s best chance came in the 40th minute when a Suraj Rawat scorcher was brilliantly punched over the bar by the Lajong custodian.
In the second half the Reds squandered at least two good chances as the game ended with the I-League rivals sharing a point each.
The Royals will next face Guwahati FC in an away match on December 13 while Lajong will take on SAI Guwahati in a home match on December 8.
