3 AMEF cadres nabbed; 1 surrenders

NONGPOH: Ri-Bhoi police on Friday nabbed three suspected cadres of Garo Hills-based A’chik Matgrik Elite Force (AMEF), accused of extorting money from a rubber plantation owner,  from Pelingkata area of the district.
Another cadre, who managed to give police a slip during the raid conducted by a joint police team of Byrnihat and Pillangkata outposts, later surrendered at Pelingkata outpost.
The arrested cadres are Lung K Sangma (19), Thomson K Sangma (18), Mansing Rongpei. The surrendered cadre is Robert Marak.
According to police, raid was conducted at around 2.30am-3.00am and the AMEF cadres were apprehended from a house.
Police recovered demand notes of AMEF, two country-made gun and two mobile phones from their possession.
