Public information campaign at Smit

SHILLONG: The Press Information Bureau, Shillong office and other central media units in collaboration with the East Khasi Hills District Administration will organise the Public Information Campaign at Smit village from January 28 to 30.
Governor V. Shanmuganathan will inaugurate the three-day campaign.
In this regard, a preliminary meeting was held under the chairmanship of EKH Deputy Commissioner, P S Dkhar at his office.
Media Units of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting such as All India Radio, Doordarshan, Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity, Directorate of Field Publicity, Song and Drama Division will coordinate the programme.
Various Central and State Government Departments will put up their exhibition and will make the rural people aware about the schemes being implemented in the State.
The campaign will feature seminars, interactive sessions and exhibitions by government departments. Cultural programmes will also be held.
Vivek syiem, Superintendent of Police (city), East Khasi Hills, P.L.Lawai, Addittional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. A.G. Ahangar, Director, NEIGRIHMS, R. Murthy, Assistant Director (News) Doordarshan Kendra Shillong, and other central and state government officials were present in the meeting.
