58 missing children rescued under 'Operation Smile'

Greater Noida: As many as 58 missing children were rescued under ‘Operation Smile’ in the last one week here, police said on Sunday. During the search mission, 26 children from rural areas and 22 from urban areas besides 10 other minors were rescued from separate locations in the city, police said.
The children were working at brick kilns, bus and railway station vends. Of the total rescued children, seven minors were rescued from a fake shelter home in Bisrakh area, SP crime Vishwajit Srivastava said. The children were brought here for studies but engaged themselves in various jobs. Their parents were not allowed to meet them from the past three years, he said.
“Police has arrested illegal shelter home owner Devraj and caretaker Bhola today as seven children were rescued from their fake shelter home,” SHO Bisrakh police station Ashwini Kumar said. (PTI)
