TURA: Panic gripped citizens of Williamnagar town on Tuesday morning following the recovery of a suspicious bag inside a bulldozer belonging to a prominent businessman and authorities had to call in the bomb squad from 2nd MLP battalion headquarters at Goeragre to investigate.
The bag later turned out to contain a block of stone neatly packed in a manner to resemble a hidden explosive device.
East Garo Hills police chief Davis Nestell R Marak while speaking to The Shillong Times said the owner of the JCB machine had reported that on Monday night two motorcycle borne unidentified men in camouflage dress had come to the compound and warned those present there that there would be another IED explosion soon.
On Tuesday morning the workers of the businessman, Daudson C Marak, cousin of cabinet minister and local MLA Deborah C Marak, spotted a suspicious bag inside the JCB and alerted their owner who in turn informed the authorities.
