Accident
On January 18, an accident took place between a Maruti van (ML-04B-9811) driven by one Rattan Sarkar and a truck (AS-01-DC-3341) at Riatturim village (WJH). As a result, driver of the Maruti van sustained injuries and was shifted to Mission Hospital, Jowai for treatment. Matter is under enquiry.
Thefts
On January 17 at around 10 am, unknown miscreants stole one laptop and cash worth Rs. 800 from the residence of Rahul Kumar at Boyce Road, Laitumkhrah, Shillong.
Assault
On January 16 at around 5.30 pm, one Saiborlang Lyngdoh assaulted Drole Shylla Nongsiej (80) and Tinmera Nongsiej with a sharp weapon at their residence at Mawphlang Nongrim (EKH) with an intention to rob them of their belongings. As a result, Drole Shylla Nongsiej sustained head injuries and was admitted to CH Shillong.
Canara Lyngdoh lodged a complaint that on January 14 at around 2 pm, Banlumlang Shabong mentally & physically tortured and also threatened her with dire consequences at Nongrah Nongpdeng, Shillong. Police arrested the accused.
