SBI donates Rs 2 cr to Mary Kom foundation

SHILLONG: The State Bank of India, donated Rs 2 crore to Mary Kom Regional Boxing Foundation, Manipur and a school bus to Auxilium Umpohliew Jingstad, Nongpoh under the bank’s scheme of Corporate Social Responsibility.
The donations were handed over by Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairman of SBI who was on an official visit to Shillong.
The SBI Chairman said that the bank was very happy to be associated with persons and institutions who have been rendering yeomen service for the betterment of the less fortunate and assured that more of such welfare activities will be taken up in the North East in the future.
