Solar lighting for little known WKH village

NONGSTOIN: A lesser known village in West Khasi Hills was lighted up by solar street lights and solar home lighting system, thanks to the initiative undertaken by the Meghalaya Rural Bank.
It was a welcome change for the people of Mawthawphet village in West Khasi Hills who are alls et to benefit from the project initiated by the MRB as part of its corporate social responsibility.
The project was inaugurated by local MLA Diosstarness Jyndiang in the presence of Chairperson, MRB, Rose Alba Bina Khyriem and Regional Manager, Gouri Sankar Das.
The project was facilitated by Selco Solar Incubation  Bangalore and Rural Resource and Training Centre (RRTC), Umran.
The MRB Chairperson also assured the people of Mawthawphet that more such interventions will be initiated by the bank in future for the betterment of the village and its neighbouring areas.
