Nascent GH outfit ultra held in Assam

SHILLONG: Another lesser known outfit Tribal United National Front (TUNF), has surfaced with its base in Garo Hills. The matter came to light after one of its cadres was arrested in Chirang district of Assam on Saturday.
According to reports, arms and ammunition including country made pistols and seals of the outfit were also seized from the outfit. As per its letter head, TUNF a nascent group was formed in 2015 and the state police do not have much information about the group.
Earlier on Wednesday, a cadre Bablu N Sangma alias Ind and Breni, hailing from Samanda area of East Garo Hills of the United Garo Security Force (UGSF), surrendered before the police in North Garo Hills with a pistol and five live rounds. The newly formed group UGSF, has been operating in the Jengjal, Anogre, Gabil, Samanda and parts of West Khasi Hills bordering East Garo Hills for the last three years. The outfit had resorted to a series of kidnapping and the police, after a raid, had rescued an engineer of a road construction company from the clutches of the outfit in October last year.
