SHILLONG: The state government on Tuesday announced implementation of  National Food Security Act (NFSA) in the state with effect from this month.
According to the Act, every eligible person will get 5 kg of rice every month at Rs 3 per kg,  while the beneficiaries under Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) will get 35 kg food grains per month.
Informing this, Food and Civil Supplies minister Clement Marak told reporters that the allocation of food grains would start immediately . (Details on P-10)
