Shillong:  Family members of Late Bahunlang Marbaniang have reacted sharply to the newsitem sourced by this newspaper from New Delhi where the unfortunate death occurred. Putting things in the correct perspective, Bahunlang’s father stated that his daughter is a married woman and had gone to Delhi with her husband.
They were staying at the residence of a family friend in Janakpuri, New Delhi.
The family members decried the manner in which the news was incorrectly reported as if Bahunlang had gone to Delhi alone and that she was staying in a rented accommodation, which is completely wrong they said.  “We request the media to be more restrained and not sensationalise what is a tragic loss to the family. What is news to many is an irreparable loss to us in the family,” a family member said.
