Court reserves order on driver’s bail plea

Mukul’s official vehicle released

SHILLONG:    A city court on Tuesday reserved its order on the bail plea of the driver of tourist taxi (ML-04A-3374), which hit Chief Minister Mukul Sangma’s official vehicle (ML-01-0001)    on February 11 at Upper Shillong.
Informing this, East Khasi Hills district police chief M Kharkrang said that the accused   driver Jeskalur L. Mawdoh was produced in the court on Tuesday.
“The order will be made available to police on Wednesday,” he said.
According to him, police  would complete investigation  of the case  in a week’s time.
He said that necessary formalities of the Chief Minister’s vehicle had been done with the concerned motor vehicle inspector and the vehicle had been released.
It may be mentioned that Police detained the driver of  the tourist vehicle after it dashed  against the official car of Meghalaya chief minister Mukul Sangma at Third Mile in Upper Shillong. Sangma was in the car at the time of the incident. No injury was reported. Sangma’s car was partially damaged.
