Govt refutes GNLA charge

SHILLONG/TURA: The state government has rubbished the claim of GNLA that the police had engaged in indiscriminate firing during the anti- insurgency operations in parts of Garo Hills thereby affecting the people.
Asked about the reaction of the government, the Chief Secretary KS Kropha said that there were no cases of police excesses while dealing with GNLA or other militants.
According to Kropha, the police exercises utmost restrains while carrying out anti-insurgency operations.
