SHILLONG: Air Force (IAF) will induct indigenously developed Light Combat Aircraft, Tejas  and Rafale fighter aircraft shortly. This was revealed Chief of Eastern Air Command Air Marshal  C Hari Kumar.
Speaking to media persons at Eastern Air Command on Monday, he said that  all the bases of Indian Air Force were being strengthened.
When asked about the Pathankot attack, he said that security in and around the bases of the Indian Air Force need to be tightened further.
“Procedures are in place and we can handle them better,” he said.
SHILLONG PEAK:  Referring  to restrictions on entry of visitors to the Shillong Peak, Air Marshal Kumar said that he would review the matter soon.
He said that the restriction on the entry of people in the area  is temporary  even as he said that he had asked his officials to reopen the place for people.
Post the Pathankot base attack,  the Indian Air Force in Shilong had restricted the entry of people into  its area from where Shillong  peak is reached as a precautionary measure.
Since Shillong Peak is a favourite tourist destination, the   move of the Indian Air Force to restrict the entry of people  affected the   tourist flow to the place.
