SHILLONG: The secretary of Balihata VEC has been accused of misappropriating a sum of Rs 80,000 under the MGNREGA.
D.B.G. Momin, BDO, Dalu C&RD Block, lodged a complaint that on February 25, job card holders of Balihata village in West Garo Hills submitted a letter that one Dilip Koch, secretary of Balihata VEC, has not paid their wages for the last 46 days under MGNREGA.
Later, Dilip Koch went to the office of the BDO and admitted that he had misappropriated the money amounting to Rs. 80,000.
