SHILLONG: Meghalaya Police on Monday asserted that they have evidence against Wandalin Diengdoh, sister of a senior HNLC cadre, for aiding and abetting the militant outfit.
“We have not arrested her because she is the sister of an HNLC cadre but because she is aiding and abetting the outfit,” East Khasi Hills SP M. Kharkrang said, adding that police have taken up a case against her under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
The arrested woman is the sister of senior HNLC cadre Phrangkupar Diengdoh alias Hep Metal who has been in hiding in Bangladesh since long.
Following the arrest of the woman, the militant outfit on Sunday slammed the East Khasi Hills Police and threatened to unleash terror in the capital city.
